Moodie and Thommasen lead pack

They say you can’t keep a good dog down and so it was at Scottburgh Golf Club last Wednesday as ‘old dogs’ (no offence intended) Colin Moodie and Geoff Thommasen rolled back the years and carded 42 points to win by one over second placed Anton Visage and Casper (ghost).
Colin and Geoff have in the past been large payers of homage and cash to the Stone, but on Wednesday they got their revenge on the three billion year-old rock, which was awarded to Mike Hogan and Wayne Simpson.
The ladies held their AGM on Saturday morning followed by breakfast and golf.
President Mary Eckley chaired the meeting with Esme Hadley being voted in as captain. Hayley Gilliver is her vice and secretary with Mandy Jones, Linda Hall and Dolores McAuliffe committee members.
They later played an individual Stableford competition with Pathma Moodley winning the day over Alex Morris and Nicky Holloway.
Prizes were sponsored by the lady president who also provided the snacks and champagne later on.
The men played a betterball Stableford with the two Petes finally winning and hopefully reducing the deficit over their respective wives.
Second on a count out were evergreens Denis Brown and Tony Power on 39. John Mills and Tony Power had the only birdies on the par threes and no mention of the hidden holes.
Flyer’s footnote: Golf is the perfect thing to do on a Sunday, you always end up having to pray a lot.
