Thomassen breezes round course, scores 41 points
Captain Bob Hall managed 33 for second and Graham Brown was two further back on 31 which seemed an average score for the day.
“Bit of a breeze today boys,” said the captain, as we tried to place the ball on the tee for our Wednesday Individual Stableford competition.
That was the first understatement of the day, the second was as he awarded first place to Geoff Thommasen as he breezed round the course and blew everybody away with his 41 points, the statement is not recorded for those with a sensitive disposition.

The ladies were out in force for the Friday 5 pin competition as Linda Hall put R200 into her purse and Delores McAuliffe got R100 for second place which will be welcome this week as they play in the ladies Interclub at Umkomaas, so there’s at least two bottles of wine to start the party.
Summer came early on Saturday for our betterball Stableford competition which was boosted by our visitors from local clubs who were hosting the men’s Interclub tournament.
Liam Parker-Dennison had a good partner as he and the ghost he drew scored 43 points for a one point win over Barry Kisten and Doc Mahabeer who in turn managed to push Ian Walker and Shaun Jenkins into third place also by a point.
Alan Eriksen, Shaun Jenkins and visitor Brian Stevens all managed to birdie a par 3 pocketing R40 for the effort and Gerrie Odendaal along with Peter Daffle contributed towards the upkeep of the Stone.
There is a 4 ball Alliance on Wednesday and then the course will be closed for Spring treatment, reciprocity has been arranged at local clubs during this time.
