Golf news to the tee

The men's Boschendal BetterBall Stableford was won by Mike Lig and Steve Lamont with 42 points, ahead of Barry Stott and Derek James on 40 points.

The Ladies Boschendal BetterBall Stableford kicked off the golfing week last Wednesday and was won by Michelle van der Hoek and Sue Kupisiewicz on 41 points, one clear of second placed Rene Matthew and Solange Fox (40 points).

Jill Webster and Biffy Dunn rounded of the podium finishers on 38 points to claim third spot, while Lyn Blackstock and Janet Lehman finished fourth also on 38 points.

The men’s Boschendal BetterBall Stableford was won by Mike Lig and Steve Lamont with 42 points, ahead of Barry Stott and Derek James on 40 points.

Rupert Niebuhr and Karl Niebuhr along with the pairing of Rob Meydell and George Wright finished in third and fourth spot respectively also on 40 points, while Neill Crossey and Bo Bergqvist’s 39 points rounded off the top 5.

Other finishes saw Gerald Fitzgerald and Paul Cole (6th – 38 points), Ken Crawford and Bob O’Callaghan (7th – 38 points), Mike Reynolds and Mike Brown (38 points).

The next BetterBall Stableford took place last Saturday and was won by Bob Carmichael and Rory O’Donnell on 43 points.

Bob Thomas and James Thomas finished on 42 points, ahead of Geoff Skelton and Peter Kupisiewicz who also finished on 42 points.

Jill Webster and Candida Amm along with Anton Kohrman and Brian Jolliffe finished fourth and fifth on 41 points respectively.

Andrew Leckie’s 19 points saw him win the chicken run ahead of Malcolm Greenland’s 18 points

PORT SHEPSTONE

The Individual Stableford held at the club last Wednesday saw Smittie Stieger end his campaign on 45 points in first place, eight points clear of second placed George Bowie (38 points), while Kirk Larsen’s 37 points saw him finish third.

Last Saturday’s Individual Stableford was again won by George Bowie on 41 points. A count out was needed to determine second place, and Daan Swanepoel came out triumphant on 37 points ahead of Kirk Larsen who also ended on 37 points.
