Sbu, AB star as Rotary golf day returns

Special thanks were extended to hard-working Rotarians for making this day such a big success.

The Rotary Club of Hibiscus Coast held a fundraising golf day at Margate Country Club last Saturday, allowing like-minded golfers to play their favourite sport plus help their local community.

It made a welcome return after a two year absence due to Covid.

The competition between the full field of golfers was fierce.

Winners were Sbu Ntozakhe and AB Sidumo on 46 points, counting out Maureen Ogilvie and Wondra Bothma.

In third place, one point behind, was the husband-and-wife team of Kim and Dawn Howden.

Seventy-two players took part and prizes were awarded to tenth place.

Nearest the pins were: Renet van Biljon, Arthur Ehlert, D Meyer, AB Sidumo and Brian Begley.

The longest drive was struck by Cyprian Xolo.

Organisers Johnny de Wet and Angus McLachlan expressed heartfelt gratitude towards the club for presenting the course in good condition and to all sponsors who donated so generously.

Special thanks were extended to hard-working Rotarians for making this day such a big success.

According to Rotary Club President Brian Blumrick, all funds raised will be going to well established and worthy recipients, which falls in the seven avenues of service of Rotary International.

These are promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, sanitation, and hygiene, saving mothers and children, supporting education, growing local economies and protecting the environment.
