Volleyball championship set to soar
Now after almost two decades, this championship is set to rival Blue Vine.
There is plenty anticipation and excitement ahead of the upcoming Port Shepstone Volleyball Outdoor Championship which will take place at Marburg Sports Complex this weekend (19th and 20th).
Some time in the past, the Blue Vine tournament was held in Port Shepstone with a massive R40 000 in prize-money up for grabs and saw many teams flock to the South Coast for a piece of the pie.

Prizemoney of a whopping R100 000 has been generously sponsored by various businesses and individuals, both locally and around the country – these are people who are keen on helping grow the sport.
This massive amount of prize money will be split between the men’s and women’s sections in what is set to be one of the biggest volleyball tournaments witnessed in the region.
With KwaZulu-Natal registered teams from all over the province expected to take part, it is shaping up to be some spectacle.
All proceeds from team entry fees will be split between the Port Shepstone Volleyball Association and the development and maintenance of Hope Park, in the Umbango Conservancy.

Digital Skills Africa, a non-profit establishment set up to reignite hope through digital skills, will be onsite to showcase technology labs built in schools and offer registration to free certified technology courses.
There will also be fundraising done on the weekend for various other charity organisations.
Stalls are also available at R500 each for the entire weekend.
This is a huge marketing opportunity for local businesses as there will be players and spectators from many different regions.
Contact Elton Pillay (PRO) on 082 3845449 if you are interested in putting up a stall, or if you have a team registered with KZN Volleyball and want to play.
