Closely contested game for Warriors against Toti

The first team had an extremely physical and closely contested game, trailing 22-17 going into the last 20 minutes of the second half.

The South Coast Warriors Rugby Club flew the South Coast flag high recently, after they beat Amamzintoti Rugby Club 31-29 in the Ronnie van Rooyen Festival hosted by Harlequins Rugby Club.

The first team had an extremely physical and closely contested game, trailing 22-17 going into the last 20 minutes of the second half. Toti managed to score a break away try under the sticks making it 29-17 with 11 minutes left on the clock.

With nothing left to lose, the Warriors threw caution to the wind and ran two more converted tries to win the game 31-29. Tries where scored by Lunga Madlala (2), Daryn Nyman (2), with Sheldon Rivabella also running in a try with three conversions.

The Warriors 1st XV enjoyed a hard earned victory against Toti last Saturday.

The second team played tremendously well pulling off a 31-19 win against Toti second, with tries scored by Wessel Strydom, Lwanda Godwana, Chris Mitchell, Msisi Mzindle and Sam Madlala, with two conversions from Dylan Kroon and one from Michael Helmand.

The senior squad will travel to Kokstad to play in the SKZN Usher Cup.
