Lucky 13 for Gavin, super seven for Heather
David Rush was third on rounds of 78 and 74, edging out long-time friendly rival Mike Anthony who had 74 and 79.
Gavin Sole has now won the Southbroom Golf Club strokeplay championships 13 times overall and 11 in succession.
He shot 69 and 66 to lap the field, with his Saturday round spoiled by four bogeys in the last five holes as the weather closed in.
The swirling wind affected his iron play as it switched from a south-westerly to a menacing north-easterly, bringing with it dark clouds and some lightning.
Grant Richards was the runner-up, with a career best 71 on the Saturday setting things up.

He’s always had a wonderful short game but no one saw this coming – least of all him – and when he chipped in for birdie on the first hole on Sunday, he certainly got the attention of the Big Fish.
The problem is this kind of thing inevitably causes the Fish to play even better.
Grant eventually settled for an 80 with a double bogey on the 18th ruining his decent card. Still it was a heroic effort from a player who loves the game.
David Rush was third on rounds of 78 and 74, edging out long-time friendly rival Mike Anthony who had 74 and 79.
Mike won the overall nett with Jan Roos second.
Best nett Saturday went to Martin Hutton on 71 from Gary Purtell on 73.
Best nett Sunday was won by Dr André Attfield on 70, with Rupert Niebuhr next on 72.
Cameron Olivant, who turns 13 soon, won the B division on 87 and 80. It was his first club champs but he did win the junior champs played in December last year.
There are some famous names on the B division trophy, including that of his late grandfather Willie Rush, who won it in 2011 and 2012.
Howard Kelly (84 89) and Ken Crawford (89 84) shared second place, with Ken clinching the countout.
Swede Bo Bergqvist won the C division on 77 points, way ahead of next best player Marius Santos on 67. Club chairman Chris Ledden was third on 65 points.
Best Saturday went to Simon Shusha on 34 points, from Malcolm Moorley on 32 points.
Best Sunday went to Norman Jeffery on 33 points, with John Neaves on 30 points.
In the women’s section, Heather Anderson had no trouble adding another title to her collection to make it seven altogether.
She scored 81 and 83 – not her best by any means from the Scottish international – but it was enough to win by nine from past champ Janet Lehmann who had 86 and 87. Irene Schanda was third on 91 and 90.
Solange Fox won the overall nett on 144 from Shirley Jeffery.
Best nett Saturday – Michelle van der Hoek 74; best nett Sunday – Sue Kupisiewicz 77.
The Stableford division was won on 69 points by Jill Webster, from Eli Bachmann on 68 and Lesley Godley on 65 points.
