U20s almost pull off epic comeback

Their first game is at Genesis Centre on Saturday, May 14 at 15:00.

A much improved game by the Southern KwaZulu-Natal U20s rugby team against Durban Crusaders, who had six contracted U20 Sharks players in their team, saw them almost pull off a last-minute win.

In the end they lost 19-13, but picked up a bonus point, showing a huge improvement on the big loss the week before, so there was much to take heart from.

“Crusaders enjoyed the services of the six U20 Sharks squad players but despite that, our boys showed tremendous spirit and character and fought to the end,” said SKZN president, Dougie Haralambous.

“I’m very proud of them. Never easy to travel two-and-a-half hours through detours and traffic on a long weekend to get a result away from home. Although some decisions were stacked against us, we will take all the positives out of this game and bounce back,” he said.
