From the Bowling Greens

News and results from certain South Coast bowling clubs.

MARGATE BC
Margate Bowls Week attracted teams from around the country. At the end of a long, but very successful week, the winners were Southbroom bowlers Glen Hatfield, Eileen Burt, Helen Proctor and Rhett Butler.
Runners-up were Bruno Belotti, Hans van Tonder, Judy Badenhorst and Gert Badenhorst, from Rovers BC in Welkom.

Third went to another Southbroom team in Tony Waters, Vernon Clements, Glyn Evans and Ossie Osborne.
The liquor hamper was won by Barry Krause; the beautiful bowls bag was won by a delighted Fawzia Karani.

This wonderful week of bowls would not have been possible, or as highly successful, had the club not received very generous sponsorship from many businesses and interested parties.
In particular, the club thanked main sponsor Hibiscus Retirement Villages.
To all other sponsors, a very big thank you as well.
Thank you, too, to Riverside Sports Club, for allowing the use of one of their greens.
Finally, to all the workers and players, you made it all worthwhile. See you next year.
