Ten Cup triumph for Steyns

Golfers need to play at least four fixtures in order to qualify for the overall trophy.

Rudi and Ilze Steyn won the September fixture of the Ten Cup Series at Port Shepstone Country Club.

Terry Kotze (left) and Howard Crouch finished as runners-up.

They carded 50 points to ease in comfortably ahead of Howard Crouch and Terry Kotze, who had 45 points.

In third place on 44 points were Dr Ayoob Bux and Ganes Munsami, with Sbu Ntozakhe and Morris Moodley next on 43 points.

Charles and Jenny Hulley rounded out the top five on 43 points.

Longest drive on 18 was hit by Niel Retief. With him is club captain Howard Crouch.

The junior division was won by Kiara Naicker on 38 points.

Highlight of the day was a hole-in-one by Bruce Holmes on the 17th and subsequent prize.

Nearest the pins were won by Theo van Rooyen (5th), Ronnie Mtshaka (8th), Johann Janse van Rensburg (14th) and Sidney Shingange (17th).

Longest drive on the 18th was belted by Niel Retief.

Ganes Munsami and Dr Ayood Bux take second place.

The club thanked all the players and sponsors for their support of the competition.

The previous Wednesday’s competition was won on 47 points by Kreeson and Kiara Naicker, on a countout from Gavin van Wyk and Allan Rowley.

Junior winner Kiara Naicker.

In third place were Peter Howard and Ken Morris on 46 points.
