Jills give Jacks bowling lesson
There was the usual banter and camaraderie on the day, of course.
The Jacks and Jills bowling competition at AMBC, held last Thursday, turned out to be a full-day event with a bring-and-braai after prizegiving.
Sponsor for the day was Warwick Wealth, for which the club is thankful. Congratulations to the Jills who beat the Jacks comprehensively on the day.
The day was well supported and a wonderful time was had by all, with some good bowling taking place.
Congratulations to the winners and the runners-up of the drawn pairs, AMBC’s final club championship competition for the year.
In the men’s drawn pairs, the winners were Henry Hampson and Malcolm Parry.
Runners-up were Cecil Smith and Denton Duval.
Ladies’ drawn pairs winners were Estelle Collier and Maureen Moffett, from Annatjie Kidd and Norma Boyd.
The club hosted the first round of the Kingfisher Bowling Association trips on September 29 and the hosted the playoffs, semi-finals and finals last Saturday.
The tournament was well-supported, and good bowling was the order of the day.
