Southbroom to celebrate Padel power

Southbroom Padel will celebrate its grand opening at Southbroom Golf Club this weekend.
The official opening, with ceremonial ribbon cutting, will take place today at 18:00.
The evening’s itinerary includes a canape and wine hour, with speeches.
This will be followed by an inaugural ‘Grudge Match’ between the captains of the Southbroom Golf Club (Gary Purtell) and Southbroom Tennis Club (Pete Nelson) at 19:30.
Pete will be joined by Daniel Francesconi, while Gary has a secret weapon up his sleeve.
It promises to be a spectacle not to be missed.
Children and grandchildren are welcome to come along and participate in the Padel Kids mini-tournament between 18:00 and 19:30.
The following day, a tournament will take place, catering for all levels of skill and ability.
The time for beginners and intermediates will be from 08:00 to noon, with advanced players involved from noon to 15:30.
Then, there will be an Expo Match involving top players from 15:30 to 17:00.
Sunday will see the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals take place, with play starting at 08:00.
It should all wrap up with prize-giving at around 15:00.
