Two Margate Country Club juniors recently took part in the Nomads Junior Championships at Selborne Park Golf Club.
They were Edward Bense and Jared Botha, playing off handicaps of 9.5 and 14.2, respectively, at the moment anyway.
Edward is the club’s current B division champion, with Jared finishing as the runner-up. Both enjoyed the experience at Selborne.
There will be three junior events in the new year that they can compete in should they wish.
In the recent Monthly Mug, the A division was won by Poen Olivier on nett 71, with Mike Algie second on nett 73.
B division honours went to Frik van Zyl on nett 70, with Carlos Pereira one behind on nett 71.
Colin Penny won the C division Stableford on 31 points, by three from Derek Egerton.
Two-clubs were recorded by Poen Olivier (11th), Kevin Oxenham (2nd), Frik van Zyl (11th) and Craig Rademan (16th).
Kevin Oxenham was nearest the pin on the 11th.
