Gideon scrambles to win with Dad

The club thanked the various sponsors for their contributions.

Port Shepstone Country Club hosted a Father’s Day competition last Sunday, sponsored by Grosvenor Pharmacy and Umthunzi Hotel & Conference.

The format was an American Scramble and the best nine to count.

Winners were Christo Janse van Vuuren and his son Gideon on gross 26, from Dr Ayoob Bux and Sashen Govender who had 27.25.

Next were Zanté du Toit and Howard Crouch on 27.5 followed by Rudi Steyn and Ilze Steyn on 28.25.

The Wednesday competition was won by Bruce Holmes on 39 points, on a countout from Allan Rowley.

In third place was Ilse Steyn on 36 points, counting out Ian Stewart.

The business day last Friday, sponsored by Van Zyl Retief Attorneys Inc, was won on 86 points by Bryan Lind, Jane Lind, Richard Cotterell and Natasha Cotterell.

They counted out Kim Strauss, Jennifer Duncan, Yzelle Greyling and Cecelia Verster.

In third place on 84 points were Rob Vogt, Johann du Plessis, Thys Blom and Albert dos Santos.

Saturday’s betterball was won by Chris Boyce and Mark Smith on 45 points, by three from Ganes Munsami and Dr Ayoob Bux.

Third spot went to Gavin van Wyk and Piet Snyman on 39 points.
