The Village Eagles enjoyed the cool morning start at Selborne Park Golf Club recently, which prepared everyone for a great golf game.
The course was in good condition – thanks to all the staff.
There were 72 players, a record for this year. The lost ball count was 225.
Paul Thomas’s estimate was the closest at 216, well done.
Best lady was Dot Linaker with 36 individual points and Hans Brunnings took the men’s prize with 41 points.
The winners on the day were Rob Binnekade, John Watkins, Derek Hodge and Nigel Henson on an alliance score of 93 points.
Longest day (and collecting the Stone Trophy) went to Robin Melville, Paul Thomas, Bill Oliver and Glenn Scott on 71 points.
The results were calculated by Stan Sim and Alistair Eyres, thank you for the effort.
Eddie Mathews presented the results, and this went without a hitch. Derek Hodge was the fines master for the day.
A big thank you goes out to the sponsors once again without this the day would not have been possible and as enjoyable.
The next game will be held at Umdoni on August 5. See you all there.
