Scottburgh High School rejoiced over an unforgettable weekend as the first team soccer boys captured the consolation Spoon Trophy at the DUT Social Cohesion Tournament 2025.
The squad launched their campaign with an impressive 4-0 triumph over Umtuba Secondary.
They encountered a formidable test against Aquadene Secondary, enduring a challenging defeat, but rallied with an exciting 1-1 draw against Newcastle High, only to face disappointment in the penalty shootout.
The tournament, which included 24 teams from various provinces, made this success all the more noteworthy.
Congratulations were extended to Qophelo Mlaba, who earned a spot among the top 11 players from the competing teams.
Thanks were extended to head coach Sbusiso Nzama, assistant coach Mphilisi Mthethwa, manager Talent Mayeza and fitness and body conditioning coach Musawakhe Khomo.
