Port Shepstone Country Club hosted their annual ladies’ open day last Thursday and one thing is for sure – the ladies really do know how to make the fairways festive.
There was a field of 64 players from various clubs, all kitted out in pink and white attire.
There was a shotgun start early on, with live music afterwards by Charl Vegas, aka Elvis Presley.
Club captain Howard Crouch was the mascot and drinks official for the day, adding to an already fun vibe.
Winners were Jennifer Duncan, Cecelia Verster, Candida Amm and Debbie Delieu on 86 points.
In second place were Kim Strauss, Sandi Burger, Leanne Parsons and Lizzie Russell on 84 points, one ahead of Anne Creane, Jenny Brewis, Lizette van Deventer and Karen Geldenhuys. The various sponsors were thanked.
The club welcomed fishermen last Saturday for the annual Kilroes Fishing Club golf day.
As usual, there was quite an atmosphere, despite some miserable weather, and it proved to be a success.
Winners on 110 points were Jarrod van Wyk, Grant Nevitt, Mike Nadauld and Jesse Verster Jnr.
Runners-up were Thabani Ngcungama, Sbu Ntozakhe, Loyiso Goqwana and Morris Moodley on 109 points.
In third place on 107 points were Ryan Ringo, Ronan Rogers, Chris du Plessis and Chris Malan.
The previous Wednesday’s individual Stableford was won on a superb 43 points by Rob Vogt.
Ian Stewart was second on 36 points one ahead of Piet Snyman on 35 points.
