Interprov joy for Umdoni golfer

The tournament was held at Royal Johannesburg's West Course.

Umdoni Park golfer Jan McDermott was part of the KZN Mid-Amateur team which won the B-division of the recent South African IPT.

It was held at Royal Johannesburg’s West Course.

In doing so the team gained promotion back into the A-division and so a new challenge lies ahead for them next year. The team included fellow Southern KZN golfers in Gavin Sole and Jean-Marc Bouic (both Southbroom), plus captain Greg Upneck (Zimbali), Clayton Mansfield (Mount Edgecombe), Grant Olivier (Drak Gardens) and Gitesh Maharaj and Kalvin van Rensburg (both Amanzimtoti). The team was managed by Wynand de Swardt.

The A-division was won by Gauteng North which included former South Coasters in Andrew Curlewis (Margate) and Ryno van Niekerk (Port Shepstone).
