Port Shepstone’s junior pool stars shine at national tournament

The learners gave an impressive account of themselves, considering most of them just recently started the sport.

Twelve learners from several local schools represented KZN at the Pool4change National Schools’ Tournament in Cape Town recently.

According to Ivan Naidoo of Qbit Pool Academy who oversaw the local teams, all learners played with passion considering that they had only trained for two months.

Team one placed seventh overall from 17 schools and qualified for the quarter-finals, but lost to Westville Primary from the Western Cape.

“KwaZulu-Natal and Qbit Pool Academy were announced as the hosts for next year’s tournament. We are negotiating a suitable venue. We thank all our sponsors, especially Denver Pillay for making the trip to Cape Town possible,” said Ivan.

The learners were also selected to represent Pool4change at next year’s Pool South Africa 8 ball national tournament.
