Summer fishing looks promising on the South Coast
Garrick and bronze bream for shore fishing, tuna and dorado for deep sea fishing.
There was some shore action with garrick and bronze bream on the bite. According to Stompie Koekemoer from KZN Fishing Guides, the summer looks promising for both shore and deep sea fishing. “Deep sea fishing is looking good with tuna and dorado on the bite.”
Shad season officially opened on December 1. There were reports that many anglers caught shad at Margate Pier last Saturday. The closed season for shad (elf) is October 1 to November 30 each year.

Sunday, December 7: High 05:01, Low 11:06, High 17:13, Low 23:30, best fishing 15:39 to 16:41.
Monday, December 8: High 05:46, Low 11:51, High 17:56, Low 00:13, best fishing 16:22 to 17:24.
Tuesday, December 9: High 06:32, Low 12:39, High 18:41, Low 00:58, best fishing 17:07 to 18:09.
Wednesday, December 10: High 07:23, Low 13:32, High 19:31, Low 01:49, best fishing 02:21 to 03:23.
