Tweni 2’s Summer Festival this Saturday

It will be a full day of fun in the sun for the family.

Tweni Beach will host a full day of sport, music and family fun this Saturday (13th), when the Summer Festival of Sport and Music takes over the beachfront in partnership with The Spot Backpackers.

The day begins with a beach soccer tournament from 08:00 to 12:30.

Teams can register with organiser Lindy Horlock on 083 5579979 at R50 per player. A grom paddle-and-surf event follows from 13:00 to 14:00, with entry gained by purchasing a meal of at least R25 at The Spot, which also enters participants into a raffle for a custom surfboard.

Tweni2’s Summer Retro 5000 is this Saturday.

The music festival kicks off at 14:00 with a full line-up of live acts:
* 14:00 -15:30: F.U.C.K and Shaun Wulf
* 16:00 – 18:00: Jason Hartman
* 18:00 – 18:45: Prize giving
* 19:00 – 20:30: Chewing the Hornets
* 21:00 – 22:30: Veranda Panda
* 22:30 – close: DJs Entrance to the music festival is R120, with tickets available via 083 2850739.

Food stalls will offer breakfast rolls, pancakes, chicken burgers, spit braai, lasagne and mutton curry, and a cash bar will operate throughout the evening.

All proceeds support Tweni Tidy Towns projects, Ugu Surfriders and Sports Kids.

Veranda Panda, the popular South African live electronic music duo featuring Liam Magner and Jane Baillie will play at Tweni2’s.
