Golfing eagles beat the summer heat in Scottburgh

The next game will be held at Selbourne Golf Course on March 3.

Scottburgh Golf Club was the venue for this month’s Village Eagles golf game.

The course was in good condition despite no rain for the past weeks, and although the weather was hot this made for a challenging day.

The longest day: Denis Middlemiss, Jeremy Boyd and Clive Melville. (Absent: Gert Pretorius)

Well done to Derek Hodge for his estimate of 64. Best Lady was Sarie Hall on 44 individual points and John Watkins on 46 points. The winners on the day were Eddie Matthews, Fanie de Jager, Ab Eyres and Philip Bacchus on an alliance score of 97 points.

The longest day and collecting the Stones Trophy were Jeremy Boyd, Gert Pretorius, Clive Melville and Denis Middlemiss on 81 points.

The Best Man John Watkins and the Best Lady Sarie Hall.

The results were calculated by Stan Sim and Pat White. Eddie Mathews presented the results, and this went without a hitch. On the fines side, Derek Hodge was the master which well supported.

The next game will be held at Selbourne Golf Course on March 3. See you all there.
