Challengers off to Glenwood tourney

The team will be captained by Jesse Langton.

The RC Challengers U13 cricket will travel to Durban to play in the annual Andile Phehlukwayo Glenwood Cricket Festival.

It’s a major highlight for the youngsters from this area, with Phehlukwayo himself a former Margate Primary learner.

The team will be captained by Jesse Langton and comprises Riley Buys, Declyn Cilliers, Ross Downham, Shaden Ellapen, Matthew Graham-Jolly, Grayson Greco, Ezra Langton, Zibu Malamba, Asenathi Mfingwana, Thinus Pretorius and Eli Struwig.

The official opening is this Friday, followed by team photos and then a match against Manor Gardens in the morning, with the afternoon showdown against Ixopo Primary at the Dokkies field.

The boys enjoy a night’s stay in Gibson House hostel at Glenwood, followed by an early breakfast and two more games on the Saturday.

These will be against Sapphire Coast at Dokkies and Underberg Primary at St Henry’s 2.

The closing ceremony is at Glenwood High with an unofficial T10 final if applicable.

Coach is André Ellapen, assisted by Ben Malamba.
