Challengers in top form at Glenwood cricket festival
The boys produced some of their best cricket and there were numerous highlights.
Junior cricket is alive and well on the South Coast, with the RC Challengers winning all four of their games at the U13 Glenwood Festival last weekend.
The team, managed and coached by André Ellapen and assisted by Ben Malamba, produced some excellent cricket with all the players contributing throughout the tournament.
Declyn Cilliers was the standout player with the bat and Thinus Pretorius with the ball.
It bodes well for the youngsters in the area. It is also especially encouraging to note that at least half the team will be back – or still U13 – next year.
The team comprised Jesse Langton (c), Riley Buys, Declyn Cilliers, Ross Downham, Shaden Ellapen, Matt Graham-Jolly, Grayson Greco, Ezra Langton, Zibu Malamba, Asenathi Mfingwana, Thinus Pretorius and Eli Struwig.

* RC Challengers beat Manor Gardens by 125 runs.
RC Challengers 219 all out in 18.3 overs.
