No challenge too tough for Scottburgh athletes

They look forward to more events.

Scottburgh Athletic Club members had an eventful and challenging weekend recently.

Athletes took on the Capital City Marathon in Pietermaritzburg and some ran the Mfundo Arnold Lushaba Half Marathon organised by Umzumbe Development Athletics Club. The half marathon offered 21.1km, 10km, and 5km race options, welcoming runners of all levels.

Capital City offered a 42.2km marathon, 21.1km half marathon, a 10km run, and a family-friendly 5km fun run. Runners of all levels enjoyed this well-organised event, which serves as a qualifier for the iconic 56km Two Oceans Ultra Marathon and the 90km Comrades Marathon, making it a key fixture on the South African running calendar.

As per the Scotties members, both races weren’t considered easy, yet everyone still gave it their best shot.

The athletes look forward to taking on even more challenges this year.
