Sezela cricketers outfought by Port Edward Warriors

The results haven't gone their way but there has been some enterprising cricket nonetheless.

The Sezela Cricket Club went down by 35 runs in a low-scoring game against Port Edward Warriors last Sunday.

The Warriors batted first in this Southern KZN 30 Over Cup clash and made 125-8.

Top scores were Sajib Hassan 46 (38) and Imran Magan 26 (15).

Pick of the bowlers were Angelo Scarpa 3-13 (3), Matt Loubser 2-47 (6) and Keegan Wallis with a fantastically economical 1-14 (6).

In reply, Sezela could only manage 90 all out.

Travis van Niekerk was his usual solid self with 47 (34). The only real support he got was from Stefan Hoffmann who made 11 (8).

Sezela’s chances of qualifying for the knockout stage don’t look too promising at this stage and they will most likely need results to go their way to have any chance.
