MARGATE
The club’s annual Boertjies vs Souties pairs competition was played last Sunday.
This was a wonderful, fun-filled event which typified the camaraderie experienced at the club.
It was heartwarming to have some players from other clubs join in.
Overall winners were the Souties.
Best pair was Stephan van der Merwe and Theo Vorster, from Yvonne Bausek and Steve Blundell/ Lance Marshall.
Third place went to Annette Symes and Shaun Crow.
The Lower South Coast VW drawn pairs on September 20 was won by Gerhard Balzer and Shaun Crowe.
Runners-up were Seb van Rensburg and Moira Faure.
Session winners were Judy van Staden and Gert van Tonder. Lucky draw was won by Thelma Harvard.
The Popeye men’s pairs played on September 23, sponsored by Stephan van der Merwe, was won by Rodney Botha and Wikus van Vollenstee.
Runners-up were Rob Jackson and Seb van Rensburg. Session went to Shaun Crow and Sean Ross.
The Food Lover’s Market on September 25 was won by Mike Dunn and Theo Vorster.
Runners-up were Gerhard Balzer and Steve Blundell. Session went to Chippy and Jenny Louw.
The club welcomes bowlers and those who are interested in learning the game to join more experienced players on Sunday mornings from 08:30.
The only requirement is that flat-soled shoes be worn. Bowls are available at the club if you don’t have your own.

TWENI
Winners of the 3rd Avenue Restaurant/The Meat Joint mixed fours competition on September 21 were Allan Thompson, Jim Vaughn, Di de Wet and Rosemary Ludwig.
Runners-up were Mike Schmidt, Mike van der Merwe, Peter von Brandis and Jennifer Robertson.
Session went to Kevin Mullen, Allan Wallace, Monica Middlewick and Lyn Harris.
Winners of the Harbourview Superspar competition were Graham Cole and Evelyn Veringa.
Runners-up were Vernon and Mari Strauss.
Session went to Kevin Mullen and Monica Middlewick.

HIBBERDENE
The Re/Max drawn pairs on September 25 were won by Alida Munnik and Tillie Kirkland.
In second place were Eddie Milne and Amanda Boucher.
Session went to Albert Munnik and Gawie Gordon.
Next competition is the Hibberdene Spar drawn mixed trips this Friday (October 2) at 14:00.
Singles champions Alida Munnik and Neil Patterson are wished well for the KBA Champion of Champions tournament.
