On the right road

What really rankles ratepayers are the day-to-day annoyances like potholes and parking charges.

WE need more public servants and politicians to be guided by common sense and not dogma or point scoring. We need people in local government to start focusing on small-scale things that make life easier.

What really rankles ratepayers are the day-to-day annoyances like potholes and parking charges. The centres of our main towns, especially Port Shepstone, are like ‘obstacle courses’ – jaywalkers and double-parkers abound.

They (the politicians and public servants) should forget about grand schemes and improve on what can be realistically accomplished. Then we will be back on the right road – hopefully sans the potholes – to restoring the South Coast to its top holiday destination status.
