Bike week roared

MARGATE (renamed Harley Town) was transformed into HOG (Harley Owners’ Group) heaven.

And for the sixth successive year thousands of bikers descended on the seaside resort for the Africa Bike Week convention.

Once again the organisers silenced their detractors by delivering a bustling bikers’ bash.

Visitors were treated to four days of non-stop action and a feast of top quality entertainment.

But there were a few ugly incidents – four bikers were injured in crashes, another was stabbed and some reported having been robbed.

We need to get the message out there that visitors need to be well looked after.
