It’s a high five for Highland Fryer

IF you are in the mood for a great meal and some live entertainment, then make sure you visit the Highland Fryer in Shelly Beach on a Friday night.
Not only will the affordable, hearty meals hit the spot, but you can also hit the right note (or try to!) when the karaoke starts.
There’s something for everyone, including famous British fish and chips, as well as some eastern flair, in the form of a lightly spiced chicken curry, served in a mini potjie with a crispy papadum, rice and sambals on the side.
Firm favourites include the juicy eisbein with crispy crackling, and the whole baby chicken (peri-peri or lemon and herb) served with your choice of chips, vegetables or a side salad.
The Sunday roast, a small feast at a small fee, is hugely popular. With prices starting at only R69, the three-course roast includes a choice of two meats. The eisbein lunch option is priced at R90.
Seafood lovers can choose from fresh fish, prawns, calamari and creamy mussels.
After your meal, you are welcome to pop over to the bar to enjoy a cold pint and some general chit-chat.
The Highland Fryer is open from Monday to Saturday, 10am till 9pm and Sunday, 10am till 5pm.
