Continental flair at Munchner Haus
The eisbein and bauernplatter are the best on the coast.
THE Munchner Haus German and Continental Restaurant in St Mike’s is a popular eatery, thanks in part to its location.
The broad menu includes many German specialities plus venison dishes, such as kudu, wildebeest, warthog and slow-roasted blesbok shank, which is a favourite with patrons whose taste buds enjoy things a little on the ‘wild’ side.
Owners Harald and Louise Gartner opened the restaurant in 2008. Despite its German roots and name, one can also enjoy delicious seafood, steaks and traditional Italian-style pizza baked in a wood-burning oven.
The eisbein and bauernplatter are amongst the most popular dishes and all meals are freshly prepared and wholesome.
The restaurant is open Tuesday to Saturday for dinner from 5pm till 9pm and is open for lunch on Thursday and Friday. On Sundays it is open for lunch from 12pm till 2pm.
Kindly note that the restaurant is closed on Mondays.
