Waffle House offers something different
The restaurant is one of the South Coast's treasures, a must-visit.
THE Waffle House, situated on the banks of the iBilanhlolo River, has superb views of Ramsgate beach and the majestic Indian ocean.
Its setting is cosy and appealing, with the restaurant tucked in near the bridge, on a bend in the road.
Hugely popular with locals and visitors alike, it offers patrons a ‘truly unique experience’.
The light and crispy sugar free Belgian waffles are also preservative free and served with a choice of sweet or savoury toppings.
One of the most popular is the chicken curry topping, which is served with a poppadum, sambals, fresh banana slices and chutney.
A sweet favourite is the banofee waffle, with slices of fresh banana served on a waffle and smothered in homemade caramel sauce with a side of vanilla ice-cream.
Gluten and dairy free waffles are also available. All meals are prepared with free range, organic, fresh and locally sourced produce.
No waffle is available as a takeaway. The toppings, however, are available as a takeaway with the option of basmati or brown rice, which can also be served in the restaurant as a waffle replacement.
Coffee lovers are also in for a treat as The Waffle House is known for its smooth espressos and filter coffee, with robust flavours.
After your meal you can take a leisurely walk across the wooden bridge, through the Tanglewood reserve and onto the picturesque beach.
The Waffle House is open every day from 9am till 5pm.
The restaurant does not take any bookings or reservations and works on a first come first serve basis.
