German Bazaar simply the best

Shoppers queued to buy the finest cuts of meat.

DESPITE the cold and windy weather, one of the coast’s biggest and most popular annual cultural events, the Bethanien Lutheran Church German Bazaar was a roaring success.

Once again, South Coasters experienced a ‘taste of Germany’ in the church grounds in Izotsha last Saturday.

The bazaar committee agreed that, considering the weather, it was a great success, with almost everything being sold.

As usual the meat sale was a popular drawcard. The meat, including a variety of traditional sausages, was one of the biggest attractions with visitors jostling for the choice pieces.

There were also all sorts of heavily laden stalls at which irresistible treats were sold and tasty German fare such as melt-in-the-mouth butterkuchen, traditional meals like eisbein and sauerkraut, and cake at the kaffeestube.

Apart from browsing the arts and crafts stalls, children were able to practise the art of archery in the church grounds. FOR MORE PHOTOS, CLICK HERE

The next date to diarise is the not-to-be missed Christmas craft market held at the Lutheran Church on December 6.
