WHEN you walk into Da Matos Pub and Grill, you are instantly made to feel welcome.
The rustic interior is cosy and inviting and delicious aromas of meals being prepared waft from the kitchen.
“I base my business on good food prepared to a high standard, fairly priced and with generous portions,” says owner Tony Faxelhas. “People keep coming back because my prices are totally affordable. This is great for family dining. They can come and enjoy a delicious meal without an exorbitant bill,” he adds.
The menu is quite extensive and includes small meals, burgers and meal baskets, while steak lovers will enjoy the grill menu. If you prefer, there are also meal combos and seafoods or, for those who like it spicy, the Portuguese selection is great value. You can round your meal off with a sweet delight off the dessert menu.
“We also cater for functions and can seat up to 20 people,” says Tony. “People need to book now for our traditional Christmas Day lunch as it is very popular.”
The restaurant is open seven days a week from 10am till late and it is located next door to Pronto Bakery in Marine Drive, St Mike’s.
