Water crisis looms

We all need do our bit to conserve and use water sparingly before the municipality is forced to implement restrictions.

THE Ugu district is one of the worst-hit water crisis areas in KwaZulu-Natal.

This was said at a recent press conference to warn the province’s coastal regions of the impending water shortages.

And with the prospect of more load shedding looming, consumers could be in for a dry and dark festive season.

If the electricity-driven pumps do not operate no water can be pumped to the reservoirs and the taps will run dry.

With the expected influx of holidaymakers in December Ugu District Municipality is anticipating the demand to increase dramatically.
