Hug a tourist – and merry Christmas!

To the holiday crowds, a very warm welcome to our beautiful home coast. Mi casa, su casa!

HORDES of holiday people are having a ball at this very moment up and down the Hibiscus Coast.

Yes! We do have a few warts-and-all, but we are no worse off than our main rivals further north who are faced with water woes, congestion, even higher prices and their beaches don’t even compare to ours (a biased point of view, but true).

Forget about our potholes. They are a problem all over the country, so most people are used to dodging them anyway.

Early reports are that this festive season is going to be the most profitable since many a year. The Venter trailer brigade is literally pouring in and our beaches, restaurants and golf courses are packed.

To the holiday crowds, a very warm welcome to our beautiful home coast. Mi casa, su casa!

To all of you lucky permanent residents, hug a tourist. If you think that gesture might earn you a fat ‘klap’, then just smile and ask them if they are enjoying themselves.

After all, tourism is our main industry (apart from farming) and we all need to play our part to ensure that our visitors leave with a hankering to return time and again.

We want a reputation for being the ‘warm, friendly, fun and beautiful Hibiscus Coast’.
