A worthy charity to support

The coast has many unsung heroes.

NOW that the dust has settled, and you’ve probably broken all, or most of, your new year’s resolutions, it’s time to look forward.

One of the things coming up is the annual tube race, organised by the Port Shepstone Bullslingers.

This will take place on February 21 and the club hopes locals and visitors alike will come out in force. It promises something of a new look with various other activities planned.

Bullslingers members are some of the unsung heroes on the coast (there are many); they raise funds for children in need. Read more about what the club does on page 44.

It’s a worthwhile event to support, even if you don’t necessarily take to the river.

Soccer

One of the coast’s best-kept secrets is soccer star Ayanda Gcaba, originally from Gamalakhe, but now living in Johannesburg. He has been called up for the Bafana Bafana squad to play in the Afcon Cup.
