Third Avenue is Tweni’s own family restaurant

The eatery is child friendly and serves delicious meals.

NOT only do Umtentweni residents have a stunning beach to call their own but also an intimate family restaurant, just steps away from the ocean.

Owners of Third Avenue, Jeff and Maud Lombardo, have maintained the restaurant’s ‘at home’ feeling that makes everyone want to be part of it.

“The past two years have been delightful,” says Maud.

“We have regulars who bring their visitors to enjoy lovely meals and a few drinks while their children play in our outdoor play area,” she adds.

The menu is simple and contains something for everyone, from the great value breakfast to baskets and substantial combos for those with an appetite.

Steaks and ribs can be mixed up with fish options to make combos or you can opt for a choice of burgers or toasted sandwiches. A children’s menu is also available.

Patrons have come to enjoy Jeff’s homemade ‘carrot juice’ which is his own recipe for Portuguese peri peri sauce.

This well-spiced, garlicky sauce is made with fresh carrots and goes well with a plate of hot chips.

The fully stocked bar has something for all tastes, from wine to whisky.

Visit the restaurant every Monday for ‘Monday Madness’ meal specials at only R39.

“I love the Tweni people and their community spirit,” says Maud. “We just want to be part of it.”

“We offer a takeaway service, where you can call in with an order and pick it up on your way home,” she adds.

The restaurant is closed on Sundays.
