Know who to call

Keep important numbers in an easy-to-find place.

A TERRIFYING home invasion caught on CCTV has been viewed by hundreds of people on our website.

We are all aware that our police and protection services are under severe pressure with a limited amount of resources.

According to Saps their 22 call centres nationwide receive on average 29 499 calls each day.

It is therefore essential to know what other channels can be used to get prompt assistance.

Here on the South Coast the community is fortunate to have volunteers who work hand in hand with the police and security companies to keep people safe.

Over the next few weeks we will feature these unsung heroes and their crime-fighting initiatives.

We salute those who give of their time to keep watch over their neighbourhoods.
