Voting runs smoothly in the Ugu district

Voting went off smoothly enough.

IT was all systems in place for the local government elections on the South Coast yesterday (Wednesday).

Our reporters visited many polling stations where they were met by smiling helpers from the various political parties and efficient IEC officials.

As far as could be ascertained all stations opened on time and there were no reports of any incidents.

There was a strong police presence which ensured that everything, even at the so-called South Coast hot spots, went off without hitches.

It is hoped that once elected the councillors remember that they serve all the people in their communities – not just their party’s faithful.
