Pole position

It's disappointing that numerous posters are still on display.

FIRSTLY, congratulations are extended to all the newly elected candidates and secondly, bravo to the South Coast electorate.

Despite fears after a candidate councillor in the Ugu Municipal District was fatally shot, last week’s local government elections were conducted in a free and fair environment in the area.

During the election campaign street lights commanded much attention as all parties vied for their posters to be in pole position.

Some managed to get their boards well-secured while others literally hung by a thread.

Now can we expect the parties to take down their posters as we are tired of seeing those same faces grinning at us?

In some places election litter from the 2014 general election still graces poles.
