Restaurant of the Week: Friar Tuck
Step back in time and enjoy meals fit for a king
BACK in medieval times, nobles dined in style and Robin Hood and his Merry Men are the endearing folk heroes whose reputations have survived to this day.
At Friar Tuck Restaurant in Margate you become immersed in ‘olde’ English folklore while enjoying mouth-watering meals.
The restaurant prides itself on serving the best spare ribs and steaks. Its award-winning speciality is the Lion Heart Peppered Rump, which is served embedded with crushed Madagascan green peppercorns and smothered with a creamy black pepper sauce.
There is an array of starters such as the field mushroom prepared in port and garlic, studded with prawns, shrimps and parsley, smothered with creamy white sauce and grilled with breadcrumbs.
Vegetarians can enjoy the veggie bake which consists of three vegetables topped with a diced large brown mushroom pan fried in port, garlic and butter.
Patrons who prefer a wholesome burger patty made from 100 percent prime steak mince will not be disappointed, while seafood lovers are spoiled for choice with a selection of crayfish, prawns and calamari, all cooked to perfection.
This family-orientated eatery has a designated ‘kiddies corner’ and a ‘little eaters’ menu especially for children.
