Top Tip: Eco-friendly way to keep flies at bay
Summer’s here and with it come swarms of flies that follow wherever we gather to share a meal. Here's a green, easy and affordable trick you can try.

Flies are really annoying when you’re cooking or eating outdoors. It’s not clear why it works, but many people swear by this trick.
You will need:
- Plastic ziploc bag
- Lime or lemon juice
- Copper coins
- Salt
Mix two or three cups of water with salt and lime juice. Pour the mixture into a Ziploc bag until it’s nearly full. Add some coins before sealing it. The mixture is used to help keep the coins shiny. Hang the bag up using a paper clip. Bend the clip outward and slip it through the top of the bag, then attach it to some string. You can hang more of these bags to cover a larger area.
