Ali was the subject of numerous creative works including books, films, music, video games, TV shows, and other. Muhammad Ali was often dubbed the world's "most famous" person in the media.

1978:  Ageing Ali loses his title

Muhammad Ali loses his world heavyweight title to Leon Spinks in a 15-round decision at Las Vegas. He first won the title in 1964, but was stripped of it for refusing to fight in Vietnam.

He started fighting again in 1970 and won the title a second time when he beat the fearsome George Foreman in a sensational upset in 1974. At 36, punters started saying that he was ‘past it’ – but no doubt a superb athlete with enormous staying power.

Spinks was only the third fighter to ever to beat Ali. Joe Frazier did it in 1971, but Ali later beat him twice. Ken Norton defeated Ali in 1973, but Ali won the return bout.
