The movie is a tale of heroes, heroines and villains set in a stirring drama and coupled with the breadth of vision of the movie camera created a formula that could never be achieved in theatre or opera.

Art or not, John Ford’s ‘Stagecoach’ was a classic Western with all the ingredients of a spectacular Hollywood hit. It was the first major screen role of cowboy John Wayne (whose real name was Marion Michael Morrison) had already carved out a niche for himself with his granite features and understated heroism.
