Out-of-the-box singer-songwriter, Roarke  was born and raised in Durban has a unique style and presence on stage. He uses a looping station to back up his acoustic rock style of guitar and vocals. His energetic solo-act is just as comfortable with quiet, intimate ballads as he is with jammy, bluesy singalongs as crowd participation is a big part of Roarke’s act.

Alternative rock, folk and indie band The Name On The Drum focuses on playing original music but the group also inserts a variety of covers into their live shows.

They are greatly influenced by Rise Against, Bob Dylan, Frightened Rabbit and The National and their songwriting also creates awareness of current world issues.

When the band formed in 2011 the plan was to have a different ‘name on the drum’ at each performance, now they simply go by The Name On The Drum or `TNOTD’ and the members comprise Ben Bruzas (guitar, vocals), Liam Barnard (bass) and Nat Bruzas (drums, vocals).

It’s open mic at this Sunday’s (19th) Sunday Blues at Rocky Ridge. Entry is free and the venue will open at 12pm.
