Port Edward Baptist Church welcomes new pastoral couple
Despite his age of 30, he has many years of ministry experience.
Following a sustained and prayerful call which began last year, Port Edward Baptist Church was delighted to see the official induction of Pastor Jean-Pierre (JP) Momberg and his wife Leandré.
They are the new pastoral couple of the church as of October 3, and have taken over from Reverend Per Jansson and wife Nan, who have served at the church since 2014.
Momberg is a graduate of the Baptist Theological College of Southern Africa (BTC).
Despite his age of 30, he has many years of ministry experience.
He began as an intern at the Margate Baptist Church between 2012 and 2014, and moved to Johannesburg to study and further his ministry experience.
Momberg served with the Barn Christian Fellowship 2016- 2018) and the Gateway Presbyterian Church (2018-2021).
From his early schooldays on the South Coast, he has been a keen water polo player.
Over the years he has managed and coached water polo teams on the South Coast and in Gauteng.
Momberg has also coached primary school learners in cricket, rugby, swimming and athletics.
Leandré also grew up on the South Coast and has family here.
She studied at the University of Johannesburg and now works as a professional sonographer, managing scanning systems within the health sector.
The church wishes them a big welcome and prays the Lord’s blessings over them.
