Water tank fundraiser ‘tap’ opens
JABULANI Home for the Aged's water tank fundraising project has been kickstarted with a R1,000 donation from Ken and Ivy.
Plans are to replace three asbestos water drinking tanks with two 5,000 litre plastic tanks, but Jabulani needs to raise R60,000 to have the tanks drained, dismantled and replaced.
Fundraising co-ordinators Errol and Sharon-Ann Theron are delighted with the donation and they urge the public to get on board.
To raise money, Jabulani will hold a morning market at its premises in Sutton Lane on Saturday, 14 September. A variety of items such as books, bric-a-brac and food will be on sale. The community is urged to go along and support it.
Businesses and the public are urged to support the fundraising drive. Any amount is welcome, but those making a donation of R1,000 and more will be listed on the adjacent barometer until the target is reached.
