THE Lions Club of Amanzimtoti has donated R2,000 towards Jabulani Home for the Aged's water tank replacement project.
Three asbestos water drinking tanks need to be replaced with two 5,000 litre plastic tanks, but Jabulani needs to raise R60,000 to have the tanks drained, dismantled and replaced.
Fundraising co-ordinators Errol and Sharon-Ann Theron urge the public to get on board.
To raise money, Jabulani will hold a morning market at its premises in Sutton Lane on Saturday, 14 September. A variety of items such as books, bric-a-brac and food will be on sale.
Businesses and the public are urged to support the fundraising drive. Any amount is welcome, but those making a donation of R1,000 and more will be listed on the Sun's adjacent barometer until the target is reached.
