Fashion show to fundraise for Mooi Hawens

FIRE and ice is the theme of Mooi Hawens Old Age Home's fashion show fundraiser on Thursday, 17 October.

Event co-ordinators, Lize Thurston and Nellet Yendall are hard at work to ensure the event is a success.

“The highlight of the evening is 10 grade 12 girls from each of the three high schools, Kingsway, Kuswag and Toti will model their matric dance dresses,” said Lize.

There will be live entertainment and lots of lucky draw prizes. Tickets are R80 each and the venue is Tabor Hall at 3 Middleton Road in Winklespruit.

A finger buffet starts at 6.15pm and the fashion show is at 7pm.

The money raised will go back into the home’s coffers to assist residents in need. “Many of our residents are state pensioners and they don’t have family or anyone else to support them financially. The money raised will be used to buy toiletries and other items,” said Lize.

Mooi Hawens thanks the community for the support it has received. Tickets are available from the cashiers office or at the door
